Kelda’s Air-Powered™ shower receives recognition through SAP

Kelda’s Air-Powered™ shower is the first ever to be recognised by the Government’s Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) through SAP Appendix Q.

Kelda saves 10,000 litres of water per day at David Lloyd

12th January, 2024:

In a flagship installation, Kelda Showers save a single David Lloyd club 10,000 litres of water per day.

These water savings lead to significant financial savings for David Lloyd, and a subsequent further roll out is currently taking place.

Kelda installed at ZED House

30th of August, 2023:

Kelda Showers again worked with Barratt Developments, with our Air-Powered™ technology being installed in ZED House.

Zed House is Barratt’s zero carbon concept home, being the first home in the country built by a major housebuilder that substantially exceeds the Future Homes Standard. Being built using advanced contemporary construction methods and in partnership with leading tech organisations, ZED House was a forerunner for future sustainability projects.

BubbleSpa® Showers installed at Ragdale Hall Spa

11th of October, 2023:

Ragdale Hall Spa pride themselves on offering their clients indulgent treatments, excellent facilities, high quality products and amenities all designed to help them unwind and create the most relaxing experience possible.

For these reasons, Ragdale specified their first BubbleSpa shower. BubbleSpa is estimated to save Ragdale Hall 260,000 litres of water per year, worth £1,000 per shower per year, with a second already planned for installation.

Kelda installed at Energy House 2.0

7th of December, 2022:

Kelda’s Air-Powered™ shower was installed in Energy House 2.0, the largest test and research facility of its type, offering world-leading research and academic expertise in Smart Living.

Energy House 2.0 was completed at a cost of £16m – part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Kelda collaborated with Barratt Homes and Saint-Gobain on this project to get a better understanding of how to deliver sustainable zero-carbon housing at scale.

BubbleSpa® The World’s First Bubble Shower

The world’s first bubble shower is brought to market by Kelda Showers. BubbleSpa® allows consumers to experience water in a way like no other shower. Our unique BubbleRain spray form creates very large droplets filled with air that fall softly on the body for a luxurious shower feel.

BubbleSpa transforms the daily shower into a luxury spa experience that users not only see but feel and hear.

Looking to move more into the domestic market alongside commercial installations, Kelda Showers requested product performance verification from Energy Saving Trust to validate our saving claims by providing quantitative statements of water, energy, financial and carbon savings.

With a reach of over one million customers a year, the Energy Saving Trust has been a constant source of advice and support to householders, governments and businesses.

Kelda Showers installed at The London Aquatic Centre

3rd of March, 2020:

Working in partnership with the London Legacy Development Corporation, Kelda’s Air-Powered™ showers were installed in the London Aquatic Centre.

Located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this prestigious installation demonstrated water and energy savings from showers of 40% while improving shower performance by 120% and reducing CO2e by 4.3 tonnes annually.

Kelda installed at Student accommodation – reducing water use by 50%

16th of December, 2019:

Working with one of the largest providers of student accommodation in the UK, iQ, Kelda demonstrated that reducing water for showering by 50% did not increase shower duration, meaning significant savings on utility costs.

Richard White joins as CEO

14th of June, 2019:

Richard White joined Kelda Showers as CEO, bringing with him extensive sector, and general management experience to help take Kelda to the next level. Richard joined the company following previous positions including CEO of Bristan Group and President/CEO of Kohler Kitchen and Bathroom Europe.

Richard succeeded founder Chris Jackson, who remained on the Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Highlighting the innovation of Air-Powered™ technology, this further ignited interest in the product.

PureGym trials with Kelda’s Air-Powered™ showers

22nd of January, 2017:

Kelda’s Air-Powered™ showers were trialled with PureGym, the UK’s largest private gym operator, both by number of gyms and members.

The trial, which was an overwhelming success, saw Kelda’s Air-Powered™ showers save 50.3% of water compared to the site’s existing showers. 82% of users claimed that the showers were as good, if not better, than a standard shower.

The beginning…

14th of November, 2009:

Founded by Chris Jackson and incorporated as Kelda Technology Limited, our initial operations were centred around the research and development of what would become our patented Air-Powered™ shower technology.

Our early development drew from the performance benefits from the thrust created in aerospace engineering and automotive technology’s calibrated mix of fuel and air to create a turbocharger effect, known as fuel injection technology.
